  Scouting Report & Links

Physical Description: Average, proportional frame with minimal remaining projection. Above-average athlete, was a runner in high school

Mechanics: Throws from a three-quarters arm slot. High-effort delivery. Quick leg kick and gets low coming forward. Long arm action behind before he whips his arm forward. Extremely quick arm. Opens chest towards the plate while arm drags behind. Lands on-line to the plate before falling off to the first base side. Off-putting delivery creates deception.

Fastball: 96-98 mph. Pitch shows life and can be thrown up in the zone. Really jumps on hitters. Command and control need significant refinement and will come and go between or even during outings. Pitch plays below its velocity due to a lack of command. Potential plus offering.

Slider: 83-86 mph. 10-to-4 shape with depth and bite. True swing-and-miss pitch with major league out pitch potential with development. Elite spin rate that has been recorded at over 3000 rpm consistently. Will struggle to land in the zone at times. Potential plus-to-better offering with improved consistency.
Changeup: Third pitch used on occasion with late, arm-side movement. Did not throw in outing scouted in 2021. Added the pitch after signing.

Career Notes:
Grew up a Red Sox fan in Methuen, Massachusetts and starred at Methuen High before becoming the closer at UConn. Pitched for Bourne in the 2018 Cape Cod League, where he was named the co-recipient of the John Claffey New England Top Prospect Award and was named a CCBL All-Star. Was acquired late in the 2020 season as the player-to-be-named for Kevin Pillar. Participated in the 2020 Fall Instructional League. Participated in the Fall Performance Program in 2021. Was traded to Kansas City in December 2022 for MLB depth reliever Wyatt Mills.

Summation: Potential volatile, up-and-down middle reliever. Ceiling of a late-inning reliever. Has among the best raw stuff for a true relief prospect in the system, with the potential for two plus pitches. Unique delivery gives hitters a very different look on the mound, but it also makes his future more unpredictable. Harsh delivery and inconsistent command and control profile give him low odds to reach his peak potential. Even if he reaches the big leagues, will likely have good stretches and bad stretches, making him tough to count on year after year. Very intense on the mound, always competes.
