Physical Description: Tall,
filled-out frame. Sturdy build, looks heavier than listed. No
remaining projection.
Mechanics: Throws
from a three-quarters arm slot starting on the first base side
of the rubber. High leg kick. Short arm action with significant
extension of around seven feet. Really drives off his plant leg.
Low release height. Repeatable delivery.
Fastball:
93-95 mph. Tops out at 96 mph. Lower-spin fastball with ride
and run. Plays up in the zone due to flat approach angle.
Solid-average control. Can get whiffs up. Also throws a sinker
sparingly. Sinker has arm-side run and is a tick slower than his
four-seam.
Slider: 83-87 mph. Sweepy
shape, more tilt than depth. Will add and subtract length
on occasion. Solid feel, throws for strikes at a high rate. Has
bat-missing ability. Is adept at getting chases with the pitch
by consistently locating it competitively.
Curveball: 81-84 mph. Vertical shape. Solid depth.
Generates whiffs at a high level. Does not throw for strikes
consistently, but when he does, pitch is very tough to hit.

Career Notes: Originally
drafted by the Dodgers out of high school, but did not sign and
attended Auburn. Signed with the Orioles as an undrafted free
agent following the shortened, five-round 2020 draft. Was
acquired by the Red Sox after being selected by the Athletics in
the Rule 5 Draft (and therefore retains Rule 5 roster
restrictions). Was left unprotected by the Giants, who had
acquired him from the Orioles for cash considerations in 2024.
Summation: Checks a lot
of boxes the Red Sox look for in a pitcher. Has a chance to
make the team as a reliever.
Has elite extension, low release height and solid fastball
traits, paired with two breaking balls that can miss bats. Solid flier
type to get in the system and see if he can become a contributor
at minimal cost.

updated with a complete scouting report after the scouting team
has seen the player in person.
