Physical Description: Medium,
athletic frame. Sturdy lower half, some remaining projection in
his upper body.
Mechanics: Throws from a
high-three-quarters arm slot starting on the first base side of
the rubber. High leg kick which he tucks in behind his lead
elbow. Long arm swing behind. Quick forward from a more vertical
slot and high release. Slight head whack, falls off to the first
base side. Repeats delivery well. Slightly above-average
extension at 6.41 feet on his fastball.
Fastball:
92-94 mph. Topped out at 97.7 mph as a junior. Low-spin fastball
with solid life. Tough to square up from a vertical angle.
Strong command and control profile. Throws a ton of strikes, but
struggles to miss bats with it. Potential average-to-better
offering.
Slider: 83-86 mph. More
vertical than horizontal. Can really snap off with depth. Lower
spin rate, but missed a ton of bats in college. Does not land in
the zone that often, but throws it competitively enough most of
the time leading to a high chase rate. Significantly improved at
LSU his junior year. Potential plus offering.
Curveball: 77-79 mph. 11-to-5 shape with a lot of
vertical depth. Throws it competitively frequently, but does not
miss as many bats as you would expect. Uses a lot against
left-handed hitters. Potential above-average offering.

Changeup: 81-84 mph. At its best, shows late
fade and downward action. Not a pitch he can consistently land
and struggles to keep it competitive at times. Potential
fringe-average offering.
Career
Notes: Transferred from UC San Diego to LSU for his
junior season following a breakout summer in the Cape Cod League
and playing for the Team USA Collegiate National Team. Was the
Saturday starter for LSU behind 2025 third-overall pick Kade
Anderson. Finished third in Division I in strikeouts as a junior
behind Anderson and Tennessee's Liam Doyle, the fifth-overall
pick. Was a roughly consensus top 50 draft prospect and fell to
the Red Sox at the 87th pick overall.
Summation:
Intriguing right-hander with a relatively polished arsenal and
solid control profile. More of a high-floor, lower-ceiling type,
but has mid-rotation upside. Fastball is on the lighter side,
but could be a candidate to gain velocity in the Red Sox
pitching program given his athleticism and loose arm. Feel for
spin stands out, and both slider and curveball have at least
above-average potential. Changeup offers a viable fourth pitch
but could use some refinement. Solid arm to add into the Red Sox
pitching development program who brings a different look given
his release height and approach angle. Strong makeup, hard
worker.
